Strategic Communications Consultant

Your new company
This government organisation is located within Darwin’s CBD. The department services the needs of a number of areas and is central to a number of processes and procedures across other departments.

Your new role
In this role you will manage the monitoring and provision of strategic communications for this state government department. You will implement communications strategies for various campaigns and programs on behalf of the organisation and will work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, reactive environment. You will maintain strong working relationships with a variety of Stakeholders, Directors, Managers and fellow staff members.

You will provide media advice as well as writing and editing expertise to assist with media releases and speeches. You will respond to media enquiries, and develop relationships with key portfolio-related journalists and media outlets on behalf of the department. You will also manage all outsourcing of various marketing services when required.

What you’ll need to succeed
You will have excellent research, analytical, communication, organisational, and liaison skills. You will have comprehensive experience with media management and liaison as well as advanced skills in writing and editing. You will have extensive experience and proven success in the areas of communications management and stakeholder engagement and also possess demonstrated experience in managing and delivering a multitude of communications projects, including campaigns, events, media releases and launches and exhibitions. You will work well both within and leading a team as well as autonomously and under minimal direction.
