This position is responsible for performing procurement functions in the Purchasing Department including administering complex procurements, processing RFI’s, RFQ’s, RFP’s, IFB’s, Sole Sources, Purchase Orders, and Contracts.
This position may also be required to process construction related procurements.
This position will be expected to gather procurement requirements from college departments, process requests in accordance with college and Nevada System of Higher Education policy, and to utilize public procurement best practices.
This position will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services and must be familiar with purchasing, legal, and insurance requirements and must be able perform pricing and risk analysis.
This position prepares, reviews, processes, manages and coordinates complex contracts for goods and services which may include construction.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Finance, or a related field and 4 years comparable professional experience.
Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Finance, or a related field and 8 years of comparable experience.
No degree and a minimum of 12 years of comparable experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database and application based systems.
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of procurement and contracting.
Experience drafting Invitation to Bids, Request for Qualifications, and Request for Proposals, and issuing purchase orders.
Demonstrated experience evaluating vendor proposals, analyzing pricing, and making contract awards,.

C.P.M., C.P.P.B., C.P.I.M., C.P.P.O., or similar certification(s)
Experience processing Invitation to Bids (IFB), Request for Qualifications RFQ), and or Request for Proposals (RFP) and issuing purchase orders (PO).
Knowledge of public procurement practices and concepts, especially those in a college or university environment.
Contract review, drafting, and negotiating experience.
Demonstrated experience processing purchase requisitions for conversion to purchase order
Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
