RD Associate Scientist – Analytical Chemist

Streck’s research and development group is growing and adding an associate scientist position related to analytical chemistry. This position will be responsible for developing methods and validation for raw material characterization and finished products analytics using FTIR, TGA, Karl-Fischer, HPLC and GC techniques in response to a focused company initiative. Other duties will include:
Characterize chemical and physical properties of raw materials and finished products such as pH, viscosity, particle size, surface tension, water content, assay and content uniformity
Maintain the analytical laboratory including calibration of instruments, performance maintenance, logbooks, laboratory notebooks, and other lab duties as assigned
Helping prepare technical documents including methods development, validation, protocols, testing procedures and technical reports
Work within a dynamic and highly collaborative group, as well as, some independent work

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry or related field
Minimum two-four years of related pharmaceutical industry experience with a bachelor’s degree; at least two years of similar experience with a master’s degree
Working knowledge of FTIR, TGA, Karl-Fischer, HPLC and GC methods along with instrumentation experience
Hands-on experience with synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles along with different microscopy techniques is desired
Demonstrated organizational skills and high attention to detail
