Part-Time Clerical Support Technician – Temporary (Teller County)

OBJECTIVE

To perform clerical support for the Employment First Program.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. Minimum of two years of clerical, computer, and customer service experience.

The Clerical Support Technician must be able to work independently and cooperatively with several people. The incumbent must be able to organize and follow through with duties demonstrating the capability of handling several different and ongoing projects. The incumbent must be able to cope with the pressure of deadlines and be flexible in regard to job tasks and duties. The incumbent must be neat, courteous, personable and able to communicate effectively. The Clerical Support Technician must maintain a positive attitude and interact appropriately with others including community agencies and clients of varying functioning levels in a culturally respectful and appropriate manner. The Clerical Support Technician must have experience speaking effectively to various small groups in a presenting/informative role.

The incumbent must be proficient in computer use and able to type 50 wpm accurately. Position requires sitting for extended periods and using a computer keyboard for a minimum of four hours each day.

The incumbent will be expected to maintain confidentiality regarding agency and client records and information.

A valid Colorado driver’s license without a history of violations is also required. Overtime and/or weekend hours may be required when necessary as well as some travel to attend meetings and required training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS {Essential Functions}

Administrative Support

The Clerical Support Technician will perform administrative clerical duties as assigned. The incumbent will proactively consider relevant facts, weigh possible outcomes and make logical, sound decisions on a timely basis when dealing with clients, staff and community. The Clerical Support Technician will make data entries and retrievals as necessary to accomplish duties and develop a thorough working knowledge of all pertinent operating procedures in regard to all computer systems utilized. Keep accurate records of jobs obtained, utilizing direct contacts, CBMS, collateral contacts and other means to obtain information.

Documenting, Tracking and Reporting

The incumbent will accurately document and provide the Manager with monthly transportation reimbursement provided to all participants.

Relationship Management

The Clerical Support Technician will communicate routinely and consistently with all CDC co-workers, supervisors and Department of Human Services (DHS) staff. The Incumbent will use good customer service skills and approaches with all clients. In addition, the incumbent will deal effectively and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines. The incumbent will assist with special projects and serve on committees as needed, and attend all pertinent staff and other meetings as required. The Clerical Support Technician will perform other duties as assigned by the Employment First Manager.

Research and Industry Involvement

The Clerical Support Technician is required to keep skills and knowledge updated using various appropriate Intranet and Internet sources as well as print media as needed to be aware of trends and initiatives within the Employment First Program and other applicable programs and services. The Clerical Support Technician will also maintain a good working knowledge of Goodwill Industries’ policies and procedures as well as community resources, services available through the Business Center and all classes offered through the Career Development Center (CDC).

Work Hours: Mon & Wed 8am-4:30pm, Tues 8am-12pm

There will be some travel required within Teller County
