JOB DESCRIPTION ACUPUNCTURIST
Cherry Creek Country Club is seeking an experienced acupuncturist to join our team part-time. This will be the first time that The Spa has introduced this modality to our membership. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of two years of experience and be comfortable in a Spa environment. Seeking six – eight hours of services a week. Additional hours available for Dual licensed therapists.
Meet with members to obtain information about their complaints, symptoms, medical history, diet, and lifestyle.
Make diagnoses and determine treatment strategies
Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for treatment
Identify precise locations on a patient’s body where needles should be inserted, or heat stimulation is to be applied
Perform acupressure and related techniques
Following a procedure, consult with the patient about other therapy, diet, and exercise.
Comply with quality, safety, and infection-prevention protocols, as well as laws and regulations
Receive continuing education, read trade journals, and keep up-to-date on industry practices and regulations
Keep records of client needs and preferences and the services provided.
Refer clients to medical personnel for treatment of serious skin problems.
Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide excellent service to our members and their guests.
Must hold and maintain a current state license as well as carry their own O&E insurance.
Must be able to engage the Membership with a smile and professional greeting each and every time they enter the building. Must be able to answer the phone and book appointments.
Individual must be willing to assist with all tasks at the Spa and Fitness Center during times when therapist does not have booked appointments.
Be on time for your shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
Provide consistent professional services in accordance with Spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
Effectively inform and educate our Members about specific wellness concerns.
Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.
Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the Spa that require attention.
Actively promote the Spa and Club, treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
Handle members’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously. Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests.
Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the Spa. Assist in all areas of Spa operation as requested by management.
Greets the member’s guest or new members with a warm welcome, and shows them to the locker room and amenities, and helping them to have a seamless experience
Remembers the details—the members favorite drink, birthdays and anniversaries, and relays that to the rest of the team
Assist in generating ideas for retail sales and spa specials.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: 2 years
Excellent oral communication skills required
Positive interpersonal skills required
Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
Frequent sitting with some walking and standing
Ability to lift 5 lbs
Occasionally lifts/carries up to 15 lbs
Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel, stoop or crouch repeatedly
Ability to provide skincare services on average 7-8 hours per shift.
Will work near mechanical equipment and hot surfaces
Will work with aerosol and other cleaning chemicals
Varied schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates
