Minnesota IT Services is seeking Student Workers to join our Enterprise Security team. We will be hiring two (2) temporary full-time positions for the summer of 2017.
The Student Worker positions provide the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of information security. The positions will support Minnesota IT Services security, performing a variety of tasks that support security in the areas of governance, monitoring, secure development, engineering, incident response and forensics, and/or vulnerability and threat management.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:
Student Worker Eligibility –
To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior you must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate educational program or plan to enroll within three months. Students may be “off” for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as a student worker, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. If you are enrolled at a credit-granting institution you must carry at least six semester/nine quarter credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, you must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load will be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college program as a junior, senior or graduate student
- Academic programs can include Computer Science or Information Security
- Educational or practical experience with information security operations or design
**Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification**

Preferred Qualifications: Programming experience
Technical writing experience
Experience defining and implementing security tools and processes
Experience supporting an internet service provider or its customers
Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to respond to a wide range of technical questions from business clients and related staff
