The Audiology Coordinator will coordinate the delivery of audiological services at The Speech and Hearing Center and will supervise students enrolled in clinical practicum in Audiology.
Additional Department Summary:
The coordinator of audiological services provides diagnostic and treatment services to individuals of all ages throughout west central Alabama. The audiology coordinator directly contributes to supervision of undergraduate and graduate students in Communicative Disorders, collaborates with speech pathology clinical supervisors regarding clients, student training, services, and community outreach, and complies with accreditation standards required by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Audiology and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
The Coordinator of Audiological Services must hold the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology and have an Alabama license to practice in audiology. In addition the Coordinator must be cognizant of developments in evidence based practice in the profession of audiology, speech-language pathology, and human communication sciences and disorders and must be able to plan for and implement changes as needed to meet the changing demands of the profession.
8 years of experience working as a practicing clinical audiologist. Research and teaching experience is preferred but not required.
