Curriculum Developer Calculus AB 1-2 (two semesters)

The job of an Online Curriculum Developer is done for the purpose/s of creating standards-aligned curriculum delivered through digital means; producing and articulating online curriculum according to PVOnline’s development model and quality standards; meeting established deadlines for completion; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators.
This job reports to Site Administrator
Utilizes content knowledge, collaboration with subject matter experts, and in-depth study of related resources to create standards-based, grade level content.
Demonstrates understanding and extensive knowledge of the online learning environment, web-related technologies, and technology integrations with instruction.
Produces curriculum aligned to best practices of online learning.
Aligns courses with AZ College and Career Ready Standards and other pertinent standards related to specialized programs of study.
Develop learning activities and variety of formative and summative assessments that embed 21st Century Skills, project-based learning.
Works closely with technicians to assure media aligns with course objectives
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
Participates in training related to online learning and teaching.
Ensures that course content is appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
Meets established deadlines for production.
Revises online courses as needed.
Additional Information :
This is an addendum contract work to develop and/or update PVOnline Curriculum:
- Development of a new course – $1.800 per semester(2 semesters $3600)
- Credit Recovery or Honors Pathway – $1,000 per semester
- Update current courses – $500 per semester
The Online Curriculum Developer is responsible for producing and articulating online curriculum according to PVUSD’s development model and quality standards.
Can have a team of up to 2 teachers developing courses.
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: applying assessment instruments; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; teaching Arizona State recognized standards; preparing and maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: appropriate codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; age appropriate activities; lesson plan requirements; stages of child development; behavioral management strategies.

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job’s functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization’s services.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
Experience: Job related experience is desired.
Education: Bachelors degree in job-related area.
